No. Infact I just re-installed the firmware, still no good. It's a MRX-500.

You have to go into the menu of the AVR and turn off Dolby volume for each source.

Does anyone have any updates on the progress of the MRX-900? Any sign of it being in the hands of Beta Testers. Will it be shown at CES?

I think the 900 is still a long ways off.

I'll check it at my clients place tomorrow but I'm just curious, how is it that an Audio CD plays very cleanly when the DSP is at 'All Channel Stereo' but gets completely muffled when its on 'Stereo' or 'Dolby vs Ref'??

My interconnect is an AQ Forest and the Source is a Denon DBP-2010 just in case.

I think in all channel stereo, there is no Dolby involved.

I can't offer any reason for your lack of room gain but your subwoofer should not be reproducing sounds that high. Normally you wouldn't expect to see the subwoofer reproduce any frequencies above 500Hz. Yours is reproducing frequencies up to 6kHz! Maybe this is something to look into?

Cheers.

Does ARC set listener position from speakers?

Also, do I need to shut Dolby Volume off for all sources and set speaker levels to 0 prior to running ARC?

Thanks

You need to enter speaker distances manually but you do not need to shut off dolby or set the levels. ARC will do that.

My new mrx700 is on order with studio 100's, and 2 sub 12's. Going to use this and my HK sig 2.1 to bi-amp the front 3 speakers. Should be a real nice upgrade all around.
Luckily the dealer is coming out to install, set-up, and PBK and ARC the system for me. 2 weeks is going to seem like forever. They had no stock at all.

Hi,

So I had a look and Dolby Volume is off for all sources but yet the muffled sound when on 'Stereo', 'Dolby vs Ref' & 'Dolby Wide'.

Writing to Anthem, lets see what they have to say.

Hi,
I am curious are you using analog interconnect cables or HDMI? The only way you are going to get the top performance out of this AVR is with HDMI.

Everything is on HDMI, source connections and projection output. I'm using the AudioQuest Forest HDMI cables.

Hey guys when ARC reads EQ @ top setting, what does that mean? I feel like my highs are a little hot?

In the targets window under EQ it has a setting from 200-5000. My setting is 5000.

can you manually EQ > 5khz ?

just in my current setup - I use a -2.5dB cut on my centre at 8khz, and it seems to makea noticeable improvement.

I'm guessing I couldnt' with the MRXs ?

I just unboxed my MRX-500, hooked everything up, powered up for the first time and started going through the setup screens. I soon realized that my select button doesn't work on the remote. While the red light illuminates when I press the SEL button, the receiver doesn't do anything. If I go over and press the button on the receiver, it works.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks,

-Bruce

Hi

in this instance this is the maximum frequency where ARC stops applying equalization. In other words ARC will attempt to maintain a constant dB level across the frequency range until it reaches the maximum EQ frequency (e.g. 5000Hz), above this frequency it will not be equalized.

Hope this helps. Cheers.

Hi,

not sure if you can go higher. I never tried it personally and the ARC user manual argues against it:

Quote:

The default correction range is up to 5 kHz. Although the limit can be changed if needed, a higher one is generally not advised since the microphone becomes directional at upper frequencies, affecting measurement accuracy especially if the height of the speaker's high frequency driver is not at ear level.

Hope this helps. Cheers.

For The MRX Receivers ARC is limited to 5K. The statement processors allow up to 20K but most people tried it at first but most seem to backing down to 5K.

Hey guy's
I am noticing a sound, a kind of a click that comes out of my rear channels when the amp changes incoming sound codecs. An ex of this is when I am watching a blue ray and the audio changes from Dolby digital to Dts master, you can hear the codec change over with a low popping sound. Has anybody else experienced this?

Weird thing just started between my MRX700 and Bell HD receiver. On HD channels with DD audio, the sound is gone. Haven't changed anything in either device's config, it just stopped working. If it's an SD channel with PCM 2 channel it works fine. Was only using a single hdmi cable between the 2.

Have changed cables, diff cable in diff input, checked config of the Bell box and it's all as it shoudl be. Have dbl checked with BD player - it works fine into it's normal inout and into the input usually used for the sat receiver. Currently the only way I can get audio from an HD DD channel is via a swapped in optical cable and setting input to Opt1. HDMI Dig just doesn't seem to be working.

Any ideas?

I had the same problem. This has been fixed in a recent software update. Check the release notes on the Anthem web site after you download the upgrade.
