Quick one day observations..
1... As I mentioned earlier. Why no more OSD of audio mode, video resolutions, info display? My MRX is out of sight when using... very inconvenient. I know a workaround is to use the setup menu and go into each individual source advanced setting and change them there.
2... Best remote control transmission ever for an IR device.. small point, but really convenient.
3... Video quality looks good... nothing to complain about.. seems transparent..
4... Amp section.... Fantastic!!! Was most worried about this coming most recently from an Onkyo 5008.... Powerful, effortless.. just great.
5... Menu and GUI.. simple, easy to use...
6... Sound quality. Where the rubber meets the road.
I just changed my room back into a theater. Projection, 110" screen. 16x22.
I was lamenting to someone the other day how the speakers sound a little far away.. maybe I needed to step up to something bigger....
Room has hardwood floors with new area rug in front of new couch. No other treatments at this point.
Graphs will follow... After ARC, room opens up, speakers sound twice their size... can finally hear my rear surrounds... so pleased.
I've like, never loved, Audyssey....
the way my rooms sounds at this point.. this was a preliminary quick setup.
Another really interesting note is with my Onkyo and MRX pre-ARC, the center was 4 db different from the mains, the surrounds the same... with ARC, all the speakers are within 2 db of each other..
I have an obvious bump at 60Hz... outside of that, I was actually pleasantly surprised at the measurements (I know that the Def Tech's are fairly flat and neutral..)
Also.. room gain is as measured.. no adjustments.
