You're the man. That's exactly what it was, I forgot I enabled it recently. If CEC is on the receiver only does a single click during power up/down. I'm guessing the second click that is missing is whatever is being left on for CEC to function and also what is putting out the heat.

Thanks, I remember when the CEC upgrade came
Out I was initially excited, but after noticing how warm
My MRX stayed I disabled it. Heat an AVR's don't play
Well together.
