Trying to figure out how to set up Zone 2 for my secondary DIRECTV viewing...
Currently, I connect my DIRECTV HR-44 to my MRX-500 via HDMI, has worked great since day 1; with this setup, i use the full 5.1 setup, 1080I/1080P (check my speakers in signature)
What I was thinking of doing was the following, for casual TV watching (and to give my speakers a little down time, i.e., preventing them from being used so often), was setting up a cheap soundbar for my casual TV viewing......the speakers on my Sony 930D aren't very good, so I thought a soundbar would be a reasonable substitution....just can't figure out how to set up cabling for this approach. I assume it would have to be Audio analog out from the DIRECTV HR-44 to my MRX-500...but what about video? I believe I only have 1 HDMI output on the DIRECTV HR-44 (that goes directly to Anthem,i.e. 1080P; Anthem can't pass 4K); I believe the HR-44 has component video connections that could probably be connected to the Sony as another input (I use a Roku through another one of the Sony HDMI's, optical out to MRX-500 for 4K streaming)
Anybody got any thoughts on how to set this up?
