I am in the market for a new reciever. I am looking at the 1008 but with Amaz... having the 3007 at a good price I am wondering if it is a better buy than the 1008? Is the only NEW feature on the 1008 that the 3007 doesn't have is the 3D ready? Does the upscaling of the 3007 do a better job than the DCDi of the 1008? Is there any real negative for going with the 3007 over the 1008?

Thanks
Dale

Actually none at all. Unless you are planning 3D I guess. I have had both and they are very close in scaling. Sound is very close as well. Of course you get a little more power with the 3007. It is a tough call.

I think the 1008 can do high and wide together at the expense of not being able to use surround-back. I know the 3007 cannot do this because I have one. That plus 3d. I think there may be one negative to the 1008 but I cannot think of it right now. It does not have Auddyssey X32 like the 3/5008, but neither does the 3007.
