Hi, I'm terribly sorry if this question has been asked before but I'm a little tipsy and my search function skills are less than stellar.
I'm contemplating getting the Onkyo TX-NR609 but I have a question that could possibly be a deal breaker depending on the responses I get from you tech-savvy lot.
If I bought this receiver, I would connect a Xbox 360, PS3, and PC to it via HDMI. I would also have a Slingbox Pro HD connected to a cable box at a remote location via component. I would sling the video to my PC which as mentioned before, is connected to the recevier via HDMI.
Here is where the curveball comes in. I also have a Hauppauge HD PVR 1212, which I would like to use to record anything my heart desires whether it be from a videogame or recording HD content from Time Warner
My ultimate question is: Would the HD-PVR work if it was connected to the component output of the Onkyo receiver? Is the Onkyo receiver capable of taking a digital source (HDMI) input, and transferring it to an analog signal (Component Output).
I know a lot of entry level receivers are unable to convert a digital input into an analog output but I'm simply too stupid to understand if this particular model can. Thousands of dollars may be at stake here, so please if you are an authority on this situation, help me out. Thanks!
Does HDCP make what I want to do impossible??
