I have a relatively new TX-NR808 and am experiencing something i've never seen before. The first symptom i noticed is that the OSD kept showing the input name on the screen. It would occasionally turn off, but come back on seconds later. Its now on 95% of the time.

In the course of troubleshooting, I would try to switch to a different input. however, seconds later it would switch right back to that same input.

In this case, the input is CBL/SAT and I have a DirecTV tuner on it. Every device is connected via HDMI and I have a single HDMI out to the TV. No matter which input i choose, it will switch back to CBL/SAT either immediately or within 5 seconds. It will do this even with the DirecTV box OFF. I've unplugged the receiver and plugged it back in - nothing. I blocked the IR signals to ensure my IR blaster wasn't going nuts, no luck (i even turned off the blaster).

I'm at a loss here, and its pretty annoying as it renders the receiver useless. Any advice?

Thanks!

That is why CE comes with a warranty. The idea of the cause is these sat out in the ocean too long. A cargo ship carrying cars and various CE was stranded. Not likely, but maybe yours was on this ship...
