Quick question
I am watching a streaming movie via vudu. The voice is slightly off and I have auto lip-sync on. I am playing this through my blue ray player

One other thing..... I Checked the delay. And I see there is a setting from 0 to 200. What I actually need is a negative delay. I have auto lip sync on

So how do I fix the voice sync issue

Seems to be a blue ray settings issue.

Which output do I set it at?
PCM stereo
Bitstream hd
Bitstream legacy
PCM 5.1

Should PCM down sampling be on or off? If on I can set it or 96 hz 48 hz or off

What about dynamic range control? On off or auto?
Stereo down mix. On off or auto?

I would go with component + optical, personally. It's not going to be that much more cabling (you have to use separate audio anyway) and will be rock solid.

...unless said STB outputs 1080p, which you can't get over Component. So if it outputs 1080p and you really WANT 1080p, you'll want the DVI connection in spite of the potential complications.

Thank you for your replies.

muting will leave a notification. I will see if I could turn off the speakers on my tv. However should this even be happening? Should I get static from simply plugging the AVR into my tv via hdmi? Seems kind of fish to me.

would a reset help?

Hi RSXer, try the other HDMI inputs on your tv or try another HDMI cable.

thanks for your help JChin, I have already tried both, both didn't help. Also tried other outlets thinking might be some sort of interference. Still didn't help.

Might try resetting the microprocessor?

my 2112 is totally brand new!

bought a AVR-2112CI a few weeks ago and, either we are the ones screwing things up or this thing is defective..... here's the latest problem... I really hope one of you can help.... short of resetting the micro processor idk....

Today I listened to the internet Radio..... the on screen display popped up fine, then switched over to the ps3 to watch some netfix ... turned the system on standby and walked away after I was done.

This evening we watched some netfix again, then decided to switch over and listen to music through the airplay function. I am just learning about this thing.... so please bare with me..... there is no on screen display at all, when I switch to the net/usb, what causes this and how do I fix it ..... what are we doing/not doing right? I have read almost every page of the manual and I find nothing that works anyways

Hi All,

Finally I received my 3312, and am loving it so far. However, I have a very interesting issue with playing movies via a HDMI connected Mac mini using the Plex media center. Regardless of the video codec, or audio codec in the movie, the movie plays at only around 18 FPS and audio is completely out of sync.

Previously the mac mini was connected via HDMI directly to the TV and things were working perfectly. So I'm kind of taking OSX\\Plex out of the picture here. As nothing has changed on that front.

Can anyone think of anything settings wise, or feature wise that could be causing this ?. Perhaps automatic volume correction ?. Or Audio Sync settings ?. That's all I can think of really..

Many thanks for your help!

Not familiar with Plex, however, at least one 3311CI owner had an issue getting it to sync properly. You may want to try another media server.

A couple of owners have mentioned this now. One resolved it by setting the GUI - Net/USB setting (p. 96) to "Always." You could try resetting the microprocessor. Regardless, give Denon CS a call and report it. See if they can replicate it as well.

Thanks for the reply, but essentially Plex is software installed on the mac mini, that is playing back blu-ray rips located on a NAS. The Video\\Audio is being bitstreamed over HDMI to the receiver. So it's not a DLNA\\streaming issue So it's 'essentially' like I'm playing back a blu-ray from a blu-ray player. If I disconnect the HDMI from the receiver and connect it directly to the TV audio and video is fine.

Audio\\Video from my cable box that is connected to the receiver is fine.

Yes, I know what it is ... simply meant I was not familiar with it. As suggested, you may want to try a different media server software package.

VLC has worked on some older models. Give TwonkyMedia a try.

So you think that it's actually the way the software is sending out the audio\\video to the receiver, more than the receiver itself ?. I guess I just have to try different combinations to see what works. If nothing does ..then perhaps this receiver just doesnt like the way the mac mini bitstreams audio\\video over HDMI ..

There are known issues with some HTPC video cards, often resolved by changing video cards.

Try another hdmi. cable and make sure it is high speed. You could also try a mini plug to composite.

Hdmi does suck but that is what we have to work with.

my 2112 is totally brand new!

further, just to confirm your "suspicions", try going hdmi direct to the TV from a source (ie. bluray player) to ensure that your problem is indeed the receiver and not an "overall" issue in your TV.

Before you try a microprocessor reset, here's 2 things that worked for me, removing and reseating the HDMI cable at the TV end or unplugging the AVR for a couple of seconds. I get this every few weeks but after a reset it works fine for a while.
When I called Denon about it, they simply asked me try a microprocessor reset or get the AVR replaced.

Microprocessor reset helped but then I got the same thing again a few days later so it did not get rid of the issue.

Please do write to Denon, they might be able to do something about it with a FW update. JD it might help if you can get the message across as well.

Connected my Blu-Ray to the 2112ci via RCA connection, in addition to the HDMI connection.

Can now play CD's, MP3's from Blu-Ray in Zone 2 (which is my backyard deck).

So, I still don't know if I will be able to play my iTunes library once the Receiver is connected to my Network (not done yet). I've read as much as I can here (and the manual) and I *think* I will be able to do so, I'm just not 100% sure.

Just to let you all know, I finally got streaming working.

From jdsmoothie's suggestion, I installed TVersity (and ffdshow for .flac files).
I even tightened down the security/permissions on the Win7 PC that I opened up to get Windows Media Player to work and TVersity still works.
So I guess Denon and WMP don't get along too well.

Is there any way to get video streamed from PC directly through Denon, or is it audio & pictures only?

It is possible as long as you're not using the AVR as the Airplay client (ie. Airplay via Apple TV will pass video).

Before I contact Denon, I need to know if this issue is consistant. Are there any other 2112CI (or other networking model) owner's (other than the one's that have already posted about it in this thread) that are having an issue with the Net/USB GUI not displaying after going to another source and then back to Net/USB again?

Hi.

Sorry, I don't have an answer for you as I just got my 3312CI last week and its my first Denon AVR.

However, I would like to add that I also stream movies from a NAS and so far everything is working perfectly (I stream movies from DVD file structure and hi-def in .MKV container).

My QNAP NAS is connected to my Netgear router. One of the ports on the router then goes to the basement into an 8 port switch. Connected to the switch is my Denon 3312, and PopCorn Hour C200 network media tank. The Popcorn hour outputs audio/video to the 3312 using the 2nd HDMI connection on the 3312. All the network cabling is CAT6 (gigabit) and HDMI is 1.4a (i think).

I have not made any adjustments in the receiver for the video streaming to work.

On a side note, somebody mentioned having problems updating the reciever firmware using a switch. I had no such problem and have done 1 update so far.

I'm currently getting hot and bothered trying to set up my new 1912 with an Energy II Take Classic 5.1 system. I ran Audyssey but it wouldn't recognize my subwoofer (connected to the receiver via a sub cable) and the sub doesn't do anything with tv or bluray source. The other speakers work fine.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Is the sub set to ON vice AUTO? If you remove the sub cable from the AVR and rub your finger over it do you hear static from the sub?

From jdsmoothie's suggestion, I installed TVersity (and ffdshow for .flac files).
I even tightened down the security/permissions on the Win7 PC that I opened up to get Windows Media Player to work and TVersity still works.
So I guess Denon and WMP don't get along too well.

Is there any way to get video streamed from PC directly through Denon, or is it audio & pictures only?

I don't think it's a Denon thing, I think it's a Windows thing. I've had issues with DNLA on multiple devices from Win7 directly, but TVersity always works fine. My XBox (shockingly ) never seemed to share the issues competing devices had.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried it with the sub set to auto and on (although I can't remember which setting I used when running Audyssey). I do hear static from the sub when running my finger over the AVR end of the cable.
