Okay, so here's the deal. I noticed while listening to some music that I wasn't hearing my sub. I went and got the MCACC microphone and went through the setup again. The problem I'm having is that the receiver doesn't "see" the sub. I get an error message about subwoofer volume is too low.

All speaker settings are on small, the volume is on for the sub in various menus on the Pioneer, the light on the back of the SW 12 is green for on and still no response. The only way I hear anything at all from the sub is by unplugging the cable from the Pioneer and tapping the end of the cable (this tells me the Infinity is working).

Can somebody please please please please help, I have been working on this for over 4 hours now and am about ready to chuck this thing out the window.

Thanks in advance!

Did you plug the subwoofer into the right place on the receiver?

Make sure you're using the subwoofer out in the preout section and not the sub input in the MULTI CH IN area. The one you want is just above the red surround left speaker terminal.

Also, do you have the switch on the back of the sub set to normal or LFE?

I had it plugged in to MULTI CH IN. I feel like a complete idiot and I have to say I'm a bit torn on whether to laugh or cry. Thank you so much for the quick and correct response, you rule, my wife and children thank you now that I'm no longer a screaming lunatic.

I pretty much thought that's what you did. You're not the first nor the last to do this.

Don't feel bad, once I connected a Universal DVD player multi-channel outputs to the receivers pre-outs...

That takes talent...

echoing the two previous posters... i know someone who might have made this same error more than once...

although i'm rather impressed that schan managed to do what he did...
