My wife "had" to have this TV stand and it has smaller than usual spaces for components. The max width that can fit is 16-1/2". Does anyone have some suggestions on some narrow a/v receivers. Most I've seen seem to be 17" or more in width.

Check out Cambridge Audio... I think they are 16.5 wide. They also make "mini systems" components as do other company's.
