You'd have to be playing your system pretty loud for it to be clipping...

I just got my RX-V667 yesterday, and WOW it's much better then my previous RX-V565 receiver, first off i could notice the bass was more powerful, i actually had to turn it down to negative 3, on my other receiver i had it set to positive 4. Another thing i noticed is that, i feel more surrounded with the sound when i watch movies or play games. The center channel is much clearer now before i could barely hear the voices, now they come in crystal clear. Overall im impressed with this receiver, and for the price its much better.

To figure out if it is the PS3(I assume)...you could run a tos-link at the same time. If it solves the problem, it is the connection with the HDMI.

It is possible you have a bad HDMI...
But a tos-link would rule out the player...

The problem is with my 360 not my PS3, but i tried that for the 360 and it didn't help. Thats what i thought it could be a bad HDMI cable, but i guess not. My other yamaha receiver did the same thing.

I read somewhere else that some one had the same problem, and they just changed the video output to 1080i instead of 1080p, and that helped, i gotta try that when i get home from work.
