I recently changed from HDMI to 5.1 analog cables to play multi-channel files from my Oppo 103. After about 30 minutes of continuous playing, the receiver cuts off. The files keeps playing on the Oppo. I have to turn the receiver back on to continue listening. Any ideas why this is happening?

I have a VM120 from my T758 that is unneeded after upgrading to the VM130, but I wouldn't know anything about how to get it from here to Russia.

I'm sorry but I'm really busy lately. Could you contact Spearit Sound and see if they can help you? They're a clearing house for NAD here and do a lot of upgrades so probably have plenty of VM120's kicking around. They do a lot of shipping so may be in a better position to help you. If my situation changes I can search the shipping and payment options but right now it's impossible.

Will send a reminder email this week...

If they would tell you it's "normal": don't accept it! I really can't see NAD making receivers that are supposed to deliver buzz in the way our 757's have done. As I mentioned above, I've tried out the T787 and then settled for the T777. None of them produce the buzzing noise I had problems with on the T757. Sure, the 777/787 have different AM/VM-units than the 757, but they're still in the same "family". Let your dealer supply you with a new 757, or if possible: let them replace the AM/VM-units.
Thought I would check in on this thread again. Agree with the above. I have a NAD T757 V1, I plugged my headphones into the receiver and the sound should only go to the headphones but sound still comes out of my tower speakers and the headphones at the same time. Why is there sound coming out of my tower speakers when the headphones are plugged into the receiver??. NAD said this is "normal" when i contacted them a few years ago about this issue. Bull****!!

Well, it appears I'm NAD's latest victim.

My T758 that I recently added the VM120 & BlueOS kit to, the DAC seems to have failed. Won't select any listening mode other than "analog" and only my two analog sources work. I use the analog outputs of my Bluesound Vault 2, Sony CDP CE-500 and turntable, those work. Nothing from an HDMI or any other digital source, including the BlueOS in it. And nothing gets output to the sub either.

Out of warranty, I'll get prices on repair from two not-too-terribly-far-away NAD authorized repair centers and get it fixed while I save up for an Anthem MRX720. I can't deal with this.

Ken so sorry to hear this. Frustrating! I think as NAD users you kind of hope and pray while you enjoy the sound. That has been the case with my various NAD components, as well.

I believe you said at one point you had recently upgraded your Audio Module, correct? Did you move from an AM200 to the AM230 for Atmos? Did you retain Audyssey MultEQ XT? Do you have that old AM200 still laying around or did you trade it in? I always wonder what happens to these cards after upgrading and may be in the market for the AM200 for a first Gen M15HD that still has no MultEQ XT...

I had indeed upgraded the video module to the VM130 because I got it for $200 (half price), and also added the BlueOS "kit" to it because my dealer was good to me. I don't actually need that BlueOS kit because I've got a Bluesound Vault 2 for my music library and Tidal Hi-Fi streaming.

That did however come in handy for diagnosing the failure. The fact that it only outputs via digital and depends upon the AM100 audio module to do the DAC work means that when I got sound out of the Vault 2 using its analog output but nothing from the BlueOS kit and nothing from BluRay movies via HDMI and no error messages on the T758 display, I knew what actually has failed.

So yes, I'm still on the original AM100 and my dealer has a working one that is leftover from an upgrade they did. I'm also working with an NAD technician to see if there's any other options. While it might be time to go to the AM230, I don't have $629 kicking around for that. I still have the basic Audyssey MultEQ that came with the T758, it works. Nothing to write home about but better than nothing. I run it and them "adjust to taste."

I'll update here with whatever solution happens. I need this to work past my son's wedding in October. After that, all bets are off and Anthem might get a new customer.

Update:

My receiver (all T758's) have the AM100NZ from the factory, so my post above is corrected. After further testing it was clear my OE AM100 board was toast. My extra super duper dealer had an AM100 (non NZ designation) from a T765 they'd upgraded, and sold it to me for $50. The price of a new AM100? $400!! That's insane considering a non-existent (yet) AM230 is $629 and would have more features. It took about 20-25 minutes to swap them out and run the latest firmware updates. It works perfect!

Big thanks to my dealer for bailing me out. They'll have my business whether the next receiver is an Anthem or Sony ES.
