What is the distance between the front of the front foot and the back of the rear foot of either of these receivers?

Thanks

It's a good thing you are planning... I just went with the receiver I liked most and paid no attention to the size. Had to get a little creative with placement last night =).

Question about the 2010.......

Is the crossover freqs global, or can they be set per channel ?

And if they can be set per channel, what is the range of adjustment ?

Sorry if this is in the manual, but if it is, I couldn't find it .....

Thanks

Shelly

I'm a little confused - does the A3010 have different components/circuit design than the V3071???

As far as I can see on the Yamaha site they are the same other than some mechanical build issues, and here in Australia a 4yrs as opposed to 12 month warranty.

I had almost bought a A3010 when got caught up on the fact that for potentially $500 less I can pick up the V3071.

Anyone have any info on this??

Can be set per channel, F/C/Surr/Back Surr, etc.

40, 60, 80, 90, 100, 110, 120, 160

Each sub can have its level/distance set independently.

My A3010 seems to have problems with hdmi blacklevel.

PC output 0-255 (hdmi) => Yamaha A3010 => output 16-235
I dont find an option to change this behavior.
Can anybody confirm this?

Can you describe the test you did and how you can tell it's the 3010 and not the display that's clipping the levels? Anything is possible, but after the stink over video clipping a few years back, I thought Yamaha would be careful not to do that anymore.

First test (PC output 0-255):
On my Samsung TV you have to choose between hdmi blacklevel normal (16-235) and low (0-255).

Samsung hdmi blacklevel "low" => clipping
Samsung hdmi blacklevel "normal" => no clipping

Second test (Samsung hdmi blacklevel "normal"):
PC output 0-255 and 16-235 makes no difference at all.
So I guess the Yamaha does something.

You don't say what test pattern you are sending from the PC, and how you can tell there's clipping. But I always found it easier to test with a real DVD or Blu-ray player that sends known levels. PC levels can be affected by graphic card settings.

That's not the problem.

PC or Video levels can be set easly by the graphic card driver (I am using ati HD5670 card).
In my tests i used several test dvds, normal dvds and blurays.

Ear-gasm is what I call listening to the Aventage 3010 at level -15 cranking out 110Db's surround mode = 9ch Stereo with a 9.1 Klipsch setup...Listen to: Beat Service feat Emma Lock - Not Out...

Make sure wife and kids are away... and all surrounding loose hosehold items are taped down.

Amazing! This is why we spend all our hard earned $$$ :-)

Not unexpected with DTV DVRs, especially when playing recorded content. You might reduce it by using optical for audio instead of HDMI. This has been an issue with DTV for as long as I can remember, and they always blame it on the channel provider. FWIW, Dish has the same issues.

With the party mode in the RX-A810 for zone 2 are the digital inputs sent to zone 2 or is it just the analog like in the RX-A710?

Thanks,

Has anyone played both and have an opinion on the SQ difference between Yamaha and Harman Kardon?

Have you received your 710 yet? If so what do you think of it compared to the 254?

I don't know, but I think someone got the x67 version simply by asking Yamaha support. It's worth a try.

Party Mode routes the main zone output (after the DACs) to the other zones, so it works with any input (analog or digital), but of course it means zone 2 can only play the same source as the main zone.

Tried the 3067 Version available here in Germany, doesn´t work with the 3010 for me. It simply doesn´t find the receiver.

I didn't expect the x67 verison to work. What I really meant was it's worth a try asking Yamaha if they can give you the 3010 version. Yamaha support in some countries would probably be more likely to do that that others.

I too am looking for Receiver Manager for the RX-A2010.

For anyone interested, I finally got my hands on the RS232/IP/IR codes/commands, excel sheets, and examples for the YNC/YNCA protocols. Going to use DemoPad to create a home automation setup that integrates them. Also have a link that includes a location of not only these files, but many other models from Yamaha as well as codes for various models of 12 other brands.

PM me if you want it.

Anyone tried out the Presence Speakers...?

1. In what ways does it add to the movie experience ?

2. Is it useful for all types of movies or only particular genres or particular types of scenes ?

Thanks,

I bought the Rx-V750 about 7 years ago and it has been great. Never a problem. I am looking to upgrade my home theater system, and am looking at the RX-A700 or 710. Any idea as to how they compare? It is worth the cost to upgrade?

they in large the field of sound I must say very discreetly but it's a pleasing addition to my HOME theater audio experience....so overwhelming that I now look for movies with a 5 star audio rating ...going back and watching those from my library again adding a new perspective on 7.1, true hd and dts hd.. instead of just looking for the top PQ

Your going to love it. Mine replaced an Onkyo 605, and blows it away musically. It sounds better for movies too, but the difference for music really surprised me.

I can only imagine that Yamaha has made improvements in sound quality over the years. The V2700 was pretty much the same position in the model line and nearly $200 lower in price as the current 2010. Amazing how they can pack more features and better components in a unit and charge less six years later. If only cars worked the same way.
