I'm in the market for an "entry-level" (i.e. cheap ... about $300 max give or take) 7.1 receiver that can do Dolby Digital Plus. I'll need it to also do Dolby Digital and DTS, but it's probably a safe bet that if it can do DD+, then it can also do the older codecs as well.

I've been googling, and the Harman Kardon avr1600 looks promising. Apparently it's discontinued now, but you can still get them at sub-$300 prices on Amazon. Can anybody recommend similar receivers that I should consider?

If you live near a Fry's, you can order a 609 online for $300 and pick it up at the store.

After that, I think that Yammie deal is pretty good.
