Hi everyone,

I'm looking to upgrade my Onkyo TX-NR1007 receiver and could use some advice.

First some info: My use is 80% HT-20% music. I have a 5.1 set of KEF 3005SE (which I could also upgrade if it's necessary) and I'm using the system in a smallish room. Also i live in an apt with neighbors so i can't raise the volume too loud.

Now here's what i'd like to get, if possible, from a new AVR:
- most important, better upscaler than current. I still watch some SD DVDs and the upscaling of my Onkyo (Faroudja DCDi) sucks.
- notably better SQ, even at lower levels.
- might as well get HDMI 1.4/1.4a to future-proof.
- Airplay would be nice but nor crucial.
My budget is 2K max for the receiver. I could also upgrade my speakers if you guys think it's necessary (I've been hearing great things about the Goldenears Tritons, are they good for mainly HT use?), in that case my budget would be closer to 4K.

Finally, I'm in no big rush, so if upcoming models are better I can wait.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
