I'm having a tough time deciding between the two. The one thing I keep getting hung up on is the 2011 VSX-50 offers built in apple air play where as the VSX-32 does not. I stream most of my music via the xbox and media center but it's painfully slow. Air play does seem like a great feature but I'm not sure the price tag on the 50 is worth it. I realize the 32 is ipod/iphone compatible but only directly connected to the front port. Looking at the other specs they appear very similar. Is there anything else I should take into consideration?

Last Years VSX 32 is heavily discounted and a couple hundred less than the VSX-50. I also thought about getting the apple tv and running it through the VSX and streaming my music from Itunes that way.

In the end if I go the VSX 32 route, I can get the Receiver, Apple TV, and a Netgear wireless bridge for wifi connectivity all for the same price the VSX-50 goes for.

Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

What about the Pioneer 1121? Its a step up from the VSX50 and also comes with airplay. It's on sale for 601.00 at Amazon right now but I'm not sure if you can find better deals elsewhere.

Why not get the vsx-1021 if you're trying to save money and want Airplay? It only cost $399.

I really want to stick to an Elite model with the 2 year warranty in addition to an extended BB warranty. My last 2 harmon kardon receivers both crapped out and I refuse to ever purchase another.

So you're only purchasing from Best Buy? Well that's definitely gonna cost you more money unless you find a clearance item. Hopefully you can find a manager willing to work on price. Good luck.
