Looking at perhaps upgrading my set on Black Friday. I'd love the built in AmazonVOD, Netflix and Hulu, but of course I'd want to be able to have the sound routed through my receiver. I know most TV's have to optical out, but only for OTA signals.*

Have you seen of heard of any TV mfg, who has a way to get the on demand audio back out to a receiver?

Any HDMI 1.4 HDTV w/ARC is able to pass TV app audio back to the HDMI 1.4 AVR via the same HDMI cable that connects the AVR to the TV, otherwise, at the very least the TV app audio can be passed via the optical audio out. In other words, if it's generated by the TV, then it can pass to the AVR.

"JD" - Call 585-645-1006 or email for AVR selection and pricing discussion 8am - 8pm EST daily (incl Sat/Sun)
AV Science - Dealer for Denon, Marantz, Yamaha, Onkyo, Def Tech, Atl Tech, SVS, Oppo

Think you have a defective AVR? Owner's manual - Factory reset 4-5 times in a row.
