I am looking at purchasing the Tannoy Revolution DC6T floor standing speakers, and pairing them with the following Tannoy speakers to make a 5.1 system:
- Center: Revolution DC4 LCR
- Surround: Revolution DC6
- Sub: Revolution Sub 1001
Has anyone got these speakers? Thoughts? I have auditioned the DC6 Revolution Signature 5.1 system, but no local HiFi stores stock the (non Signature) Revolution series.
I would like to upgrade to the Revolution Signature DC6 series, but the extra cost is out of my budget.
Can anyone recommend, or give me their views (if they have experience with them) on the following receivers (especially if you have it paired with Tannoys).
- Denon AVR 3212 (I am leaning towards this receiver as have had good experience with Denons in the past).
- Onkyo NR709
- Yamaha RX A1010
I could also consider the Onky NR809 and Yamaha RX A2010, however the only additional benefit of these that make them interesting to me is the additional output - but is the extra wattage required for the Tannoy's? They have high sensitivity at 89dB and run at 8ohms.
I will be using the system roughly 50% of the time for music in 2 channel stereo mode, and the other 50% will be for movies in surround sound. The set-up will be in an open plan living room / dining room.
Thanks for your help.
