So a couple of days ago I managed to purchase a Pioneer VSX-921 receiver for $250, which I thought was a good deal. While it was, I am looking for some more power for my Energy speakers. I was wondering if anyone could recommend something in the $200-250 range that would have more power than the Pioneer. I do not care if it is last years or the year befores stock, just seeing if there is anything more powerful out there for my price range. Thanks!

$250 isn't a lot of money if you want something with a significant amount of power over your Pioneer VSX-921. The 921 usually cost more than that.

Why do you feel you need more power? How big is your room? Which Energy speakers do you have?

12x12x9. Veritas V5.1 (2), Veritas V5.2C

I was told on here that if I wanted to get the most out of them that I needed more power.

Your room isn't that big, your Pioneer probably has enough power. Have you actually set up your system?

And if you want more power you need to spend more than $250.

Ok, I think I will just stick with this receiver then. Looks like a great receiver. Thanks.
