I have these speakers for my Sony KDL-32EX400:

The Sony has analog out and a digital out. The speakers have an analog in and digital in.

Which would be the superior configuration? The Speaker DAC or the TV DAC?

I would do an A/B test, but i need to buy a optical > coax converter if i'm going the digital route. My instinct is that the Sony would have a better DAC, but i'm just curious to hear anyone's insight.

Doubt you'll notice any difference whatsoever. Those are pretty low end speakers.
