I'm sorry to asked such a rudimentary question, but which receiver brands/models with HDMI 1.4 support volume overlay display? I have a new Samsung 51D8000 plasma TV and only an Oppo Blu ray player and DirecTV DVR as sources, and want to get a receiver that can actually display volume on the TV. Does such a receiver exist?

I think the Yamaha Aventage receivers do as well (at least the more expensive ones). Not sure beyond that.

Every Denon XX12 model will display the GUI/Volume over 2D video while only the 2312CI and 3312CI will also display over 3D video. Review post #2 of the XX12 Owner's link in my sig for a comparison of the various models.
