Want to use an amplifier for my front left and right channels. However, I am not clear on locating pre-outs on the VSX-31. The only clearly marked pre-out is for the Sub. Does the VSX-31 have this capability?

No, you would have to move up to the 1121 or 52 for preamp outputs.
