I'm about ready to purchase the Denon AVR-2112ci receiver and now just need to choose where to get it from. I know Crutchfield has great service from everything I've read, but Electronics Expo has the receiver for $200 less. Why would EE be so much cheaper then Crutchfield and all other retailers that carry Denon? Is there something I should be looking out for, or is EE a legitimate dealer and should buy it there since it's so much cheaper?

Yes they are authorized for Denon. In order to get a better price from any internet dealer for most brands you have to "call" them. Pick up the phone and give them all a call. I find that J&R is also very good to buy from. Excellent service, good prices and delivery. You may be surprised at the prices they will give you over the phone. Good luck and enjoy.

EE has been around for more than 5 years and is most often listed in the Denon threads as one of the few authorized resellers (including AV Science, J&R, ABT) that sell at below MSRP. They are an excellent source and as you noted will provide significant savings. Where Crutchfield excels is they have a 60 day return period whereas EE only has a 14 day return period.

What kind of experience have you had with shipping with Electronics Expo? Does it come pretty quick?

I purchased my 1611 last year from EE through amazon and had no issues, receiver arrived on time and double boxed. I would buy from them again in a heartbeat.

I don't need snobs to tell me how to think, thank you!

My experience over the years is that Crutchfield almost always charges the list price on everything and never discounts anything. That is just the way they are.

It kind of looks like $650 is the going price everywhere at the moment. I'd be VERY careful that you get a factory warranty if it is much less somewhere.

Crutchfield does run sales from time to time, though most of the time they sell at or near list. Outstanding CS, but you pay for it. I've never tried to haggle with them on the phone though. Give it a shot and report back.

Regardless of the big difference in price between Crutchfield and EE, purchasing the 2112CI from either reseller will still include the full 3 year mfr warranty. And if you purchase with a credit card, your card provider may actually add an additional year (Amex does this) for a total of 4 years.

Just ordered 2112 from EE Thursday and it came today. (I'm in midwest) No problems at all.

I helped a friend of mine with a 2112 30 days ago. I called EE and they quoted $449 and free shipping. He bought it and it shipped very quickly.

Yup, I'm getting the same price. That's why I asked the question because $200 less is such a great deal, it's almost too good to be true. I want to purchase now, but the speakers I want (Infinity P363) are not in stock so waiting. Might have to pull the trigger soon before EE changes their price.

Thanks so much for the feedback. Feel more comfortable now with EE. Most of the time, too good to be true usually is the case. I guess this one is for real.

That price has stayed the same at EE and several other authorized resellers ever since the AVR was first released last summer 2011.

I haven't seen this price anywhere else but EE. What other resellers offer it for $450?
