Hi, I'm looking to upgrade a Onkyo 607 to a newer receiver that has Audyssey's MultiEQ-XT and 7.x surround. I can safely say that the receivers in this price range have audio processing features equal or better than my 607. What do you recommend? I dont have a budget and am looking for the best value to meet these specific needs. Thanks.

Anything less than a denon 4311 (newegg@1250) or better,,,, it wouldn't be worth it at this time. Unless you have a real need.. Like more power, hdmi inputs, or 1080p scaling.. I would just wait fot the next big thing...

The current Onkyo's start XT with the 709/370 and the Denon models with 2112CI (w/networking). Note the 2nd sub preout is easily replicated with a $3 "Y" RCA cable.

Thank you all!

It looks like the Onkyo 709/370 and the Denon 2112CI offer the best value at <$600.

I've never owned a Denon receiver so I'm not quite sure what to expect there.

In general, the reviews Home Theater have done on Denon Receivers have rated them as Best Buys. They find the audio quality among the best and they also mostly have Audessy setup featured on them.

You might want to go to the Home Theater magazine website and look through their reviews.

I've found the following:

Onkyo 709 $490
2312CI for $529

Like every other post I guess it comes down to Onkyo vs Denon.

In this case, I'm thinking of trying Denon out. Decisions decisions...

You found that price on the Denon from an authorized dealer?
