Hey,

Recently I bought this receiver and I have been having a few problems that are driving me mad.

So far I have my setup box (ferguson 202E), cd player, dvd player and md player connected to it.

One of the problems I'm having is that I cant seem to have anything else on with the setup box on (its connected with a HDMI cable to the receiver with the TV connected by HDMI to the "out" socket on the receiver).

The second i turn on my ferguson box, it shows up on screen etc all working fine but when i try to switch to say DVD, CD or anything it switches for like 2seconds and then switches back to the ferguson (video1 in this case).

BUT WHY?! has anyone got any idea

also as a slightly separate question, is it possible to get 5.1 surround sound out of the ferguson 202e?

Thanks a million!

hey there,

i just got my VSX-821K few days back and faced this similar question.
what i did, was to turn-off HDMI Control on my VSX-821K, and it was gone.

in my region, the (satellite) set-top box have both HD and SD channels,
i only get 5.1 Dolby Digital for Fox HD channel, but some other HD channels
do not output 5.1 DD as the channels themselves do not support it.

my only problem at the moment is that my HDMI inputs only work intermittently,
sometimes, out of the blue the HDMI red LED is off, and the HDMI displayed on
the VSX-821K keeps blinking.. i'm cracking my head to find out what's wrong with it.
