Hi guys,
I want to put 5.1ch surround in my family room, 2 speakers in the next room which is the sun room and 2 speakers in the patio. My goal is to play music in all 3 rooms all together and to be able to use a volume control in each room. I live in chicago so the patio only gets used for 3 months. Would 2 additional speakers in the family room or could I use the ones for the 5.1? Also the purpose is just to play music in the other 2 rooms, I dont want whatever I'm watching tv to play in all 3 rooms.

The other requirement would be to use my ipad/iphone/ipod to wirelessly stream music to the reciever via airplay or something like that. Do recievers have apps that let you control them thru phones or ipads?

I basically need the same setup in the master bedroom/bathroom. 5.1ch in the bedroom and 2 additional speakers in the bathroom with volume control and the ability to stream music to the reciever.

Thanks for your help

What you are wanting, is a receiver for home theater, with multi-zone feature. Here is one example http://hometheater.about.com/od/audi...tizoneinfo.htm There are a few others out there, just depends on your budget.

So to have my family room be 5.1ch and the sunroom and the patio become a seperate zone, do I need a 2 zone reciever or 3? I dont mind the sunroom and patio playing the same music, but would want a volume control each of them.

So I'm basically asking do I need the Denon Avr-1912 or the AVR-3312CI

Thanks

Either that, or two separate units. A 5.1 or 7.1 to serve the family room, and a 2 channel to serve the other two. Costs go up with the multi-zone units, but cuts down on having to do creative solutions to serve sources, etc.
