Hi -

I'm building out my sound system and wanted to gather some advice. Right now I'm leaning towards a denon 2112ci AVR paired with polk rti-a5s and a csi a4. I'm going to fill out the rears shortly but I didn't see a good enough deal and to bite right now. I'm in the process of sub research.

The theatre will be used for 70% movie 30% music. The room size is a little tough. Roughly 14x18 but TV might be angled so wouldn't have the full length and width for sound. I listened to them in store and they sounded great, but this is my first venture into nicer sound, so I don't have a lot to compare (I think I'd need more time than in store).

Are there any suggestions you'd make for the setup, or specifically for the speaker package? Thanks in advance.

I like Polk speakers. I personally think speakers are hard to recommend because (a) it's hard to audition them and pick out flaws and (b) as no speakers are perfect (that I know of) they involve compromises, so perhaps it's mostly a personal preference.

Will there be any issues with clipping etc due to power difference? The avr is <100w per channel and the speakers are 20 - 200. I'm not sure if more power is needed to prevent clipping.

Any other thoughts would be helpful as well!

You will be fine with the 2112/polk combo unless you drive the 2112 with 4ohm load speakers.
