Sorry guys ... Android user here and no recent update to either the Denon or Marantz Remote app ... so no issues, although I use neither as I prefer the AVR-Remote app instead.

Recently stopped working

I have a Denon 2113. I have been using the Denon android app with no problems till recently. Not sure if it was an update or what, but I can not connect the app to the AVR. The AVR ip address is 192.168.11.5, which looks weird. Everything else is 192.168.3.something. But the internet set up works with this, and will not work if I change it.
The app can not fine the device anymore. Even if I manually input the IP address. My phone is on the wireless network of the same network. My tv app will not connect either anymore, so maybe a problem with my network set up.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael

the Denon must be on the same network as the rest of the devices so it can communicate with them: so the Denon IP address has to start as 192.168.3.xxx: you will have to change it to a network address that is not in use within this range: it should work as long as there is no IP conflict.

You should download a network app on your Android such as Fing, and scan the network to determine an unused IP address, and look for any conflicts or issues: then set an unused static IP address for the Denon starting 192.168.3.xxx: the rest of the settings should match what your other devices are set to: only the .xxx should be different.

I really hope someone jumps in and re-writes this app as it is horrible the way it is now.

I just setup my denon ceol piccolo dra-n5 the other night and it sounds great, and at first I thought the app was pretty cool, but when all of the quirks started showing their face, I was quite sad.

I think I'll stick to the unit's small display as it's quite responsive, even though it only shows 3 lines at a time.

IOS 8/Deremote

I am a new X3100(very happy) owner(since last Friday) the Denon Remote works fine on my Ipad Air with IOS8 beta, but 8 breaks Deremote. Fran(quick response helpful) sent a beta of Deremote for IOS 8 but I have not been able to get it to work right, although it does open. ron

I have not owned a receiver before that is networked or controllable with an app. I have an android tablet ready for this purpose.

Are these apps able to control other devices or are they strictly for the AVR control? Will it interact with a Dish Joey to change channels and access guide/DVR functions?

Depends on whether the source device (eg. DISH) has developed an app or not. Check the Android Play Store.

No, it is meant to control the receiver only...

Dish probably has its own app
