First off, I am greatful for my friend who introduced me to this site AND to find so many things about Denon. I've contacted Denon, however they fail to reply to my email's.

I finally am ready to use my Denon AVR-4800 the way it should or the way that I can afford at this point in time. I'm running the following:

Denon AVR-4800
JBL J900MV
Sony 3D Blu-ray BDP-s770
Toshiba 46g300u1 tv
and my newest addition
Martin Logan MLT-2 5.1
- 4 surround
- 1 center
- 1 10" 120/360 watt sub

What I would like to know is can I run a 7.1 system, using all my equipment, without having to buy an additional amp? Or should I just stay with the 5.1 and use 2 of the surround ML speakers for another system/room? Worst thought, sell the JBL's and go with the New ML's across the board?

Thank you in advance for any help, consideration and your valuable time!

Sorry, but no ... although the 4800 has 7 sets of speaker posts, only 5 can be powered by the AVR ... either the front 5 or the back 5.

Thank you, thank you and again thank you.

What would be a comparable system today that I could get at least the 7.1 and hdmi, without breaking the bank and does anyone know what I could sell my wonderful system for? I really don't want to get rid of it, but!!!!

I should probably stop that aspect of this thread until I actually am ready to benefit from any and all advice you all offer. I noticed the ( I believe ) that the newer 48xx's do not have THX any longer. Personally, the only reason I would upgrade at this point is a mandatory move to a 3D and hdmi 1.4a or better setup. I just really like my 4800 and as is, I just run hdmi from my already 3D blu ray straight to the TV with audio straight to AVR, same as with my computer, hdmi to monitor and audio to AVR.

Thanks again!
