I decided to get back into the home theater game after being without a system for going on 7 years now. So I just bought a new Pioneer Elite VSX-40 receiver (2011 model). I also started looking at/listening to GoldenEar speakers, and I will decide on those soon...

I would like to know which Anchor Bay scaling chip is used in the VSX-40 and other 2011 Pioneer models (besides Marvell Qdeo used in the higher-end models). I peeked through the vents on mine, but the ABT chip is nowhere in sight. I will not remove the cover since I do not want to void my warranty.

Sorry, "DVD0 Edge" is not an ABT chip. I am hoping for info from someone who has actually opened up their receiver.

AFAIK, the lower end Pioneer AVRs use the ABT1030 which was also used in the lower end Denon AVRs of 2010.
