Hey guys, just got a Denon 2112ci from Best Buy 2 days ago. All of a sudden there is a very loud popping/crackling sound when I switch channels on my Directv HR-24. It appears that it is making the sound when switching from Dolby Digital to other formats. I pulled out the receiver and moved around the cables until I isolated the sound (I think) to the HDMI cable going into the SAT input. I switched out cables thinking it was a bad cable, but it is still doing it.

I have a few weeks to return the unit to BB so I am wondering if this might be an internal problem. It is really loud and can't be good for the speakers. I haven't had the opportunity to D/L any firmware updates yet as it isn't connected to the internet yet. The sound is coming from both front speakers as far as I can tell.

Any advice?

OK, that was a scare! Perhaps one get's too dependant on others before troubleshooting their selves! The popping sound which sounded like they were coming from the left and rights were actually coming from the darn TV itself. I have it setup: Directv HDMI> AVR HDMI> TV HDMI. There was never any audio coming from the TV itself. I enabled onboard mute on the TV's settings and all is well.

Sorry for the panic attack guys... I'm sure you guys can understand when you just get something brand spunkin' new and things go array.
