Ok, my 673 should be on it's way soon thanks to Phil (audiofreak38). So, in prep I am getting some of my things in order, as this will be replacing an old cheap Onkyo HTIB setup. The biggest thing I'm looking forward to is some of the media streaming capabilities. This will finally get me off the pot and start ripping my CD collection to hard drive and drop the need for the 200 CD jukebox . So, this raised a couple of questions which are only slightly off-topic (but specific to the 673 where it matters). In order to have the best menu experience with the 673 (read this to be, so it's easy for my wife to find and play music), I want to make sure to have them stored on a PC in the best way.
Reading up on the topic, I know I want to rip with Exact Audio Copy, with Accuraterip, in FLAC format. What's not clear is the "best" method to have the resulting files stored (naming, directory structure, etc). Adding to this potential complication is that she has some purchased music in itunes, and I have some in Amazon and Google Play (mostly "free" tracks, but some purchased). Time to get organized. So, any pointers, suggestions, or even just some good links? What I want to end up with is a good plan that makes managing the collection relatively easy on a network drive, and then hosted to the Yamaha via the home network. Then, couples with a Roku and Playon, I'll have both audio and video covered
Plus with Zone2, separate audio on the main floor (away from the HT in the basement).
Thanks in advance!
