Hi guys - just wondering if anyone who owns the NR1603 can post up their thoughts / experiences with it so far? Not a lot of activity on this thread, I assume that's just because most AVS forum folks probably use the bigger, full power AVR's. I am looking to replace my old Denon 2309 and the slimline receivers are really attractive to me as I live in a small-ish apartment and just like moving towards smaller more compact , lighter-weight belongings overall.
I am running a Def Tech 5.1 system with the ProMonitor 1000's for L/R/Rears and a ProCenter 2000, plus a sub. The speakers are 8-ohm and 91db sensitivity, so they should work, just wondering if I'll lose a lot of the power and "fullness" of the sound (esp when playing music, which I sometimes play in "5.1 stereo" mode to get more immersion). I would be going from a 100w/channel to 50w/channel with this move.
My components are Xbox360, AppleTV (would probably keep it for video streaming and just use the built-in for audio), Roku, Blu-Ray, and TV is OTA from a Samsung D8000 LED, and intend to use ARC for audio to the AVR (current 2309 does not do this).
Thanks for any input, hope to get a new receiver soon, and a non-behemoth is attractive, but not worth it if I'd give up sound quality and power.
