Can someone PM me where this receiver is available for this type of pricing from an authorized dealer? I tried a mono-price switch for 3D but it just isn't passing 3D. I'm either considering the 4311, 3312/3313, or just buying a 2nd blu-ray player and keeping my 3808CI which is still a great receiver.

Thanks JD

I didn't realize that the slim PS3 could now handle HD audio for 3D. You advice made me do some research on my old problem and it looks like the 3.70 update fixed the HD audio for 3D. It will only be useful once I get a 3D AVR but it clears up what models will do the job.

Thanks again

You can check with several of the more often suggested resellers (AV Science, Electronics Expo, J&R). The switch experience is normal as it is designed to be connected to HDMI 1.4 displays/devices to work correctly, which is why you either need an HDMI 1.4 AVR or a dual HDMI 1.4 BDP if you want to continue using the 3808CI.

Just ordered the 2113CI from Vann's. They dropped the price to $550, so I bit. Can't wait to get it hooked up!

Sounds about right ... generally takes about 1-2 months on average for the prices to start dropping from those resellers that do discount ... sooner if the predecessor model is no longer in stock.

Just looked at their site and it's $649, so not sure where you saw the $500 price. In store maybe?

Has anyone actually picked up a 3313ci yet? If so, can you comment on it, how you like it and do you use the network streaming, DLNA, etc.
Thanks!

But, who knows....that could be wrong. Furthermore, what slightly concerns me is that the monitor (from Panasonic's "Business" line not its "Consumer" line) did not come with a built in HDMI input and I had to purchase a separate "card panel" that added that input to the monitor. So, there might be something strange with the HDMI input itself, or, maybe I'm not getting all the display options, etc... Again though....it did work with the AVR-4306 for the last five years and it does receive the setup menu screen from the receiver when I switch to an unoccupied Input slot.
I will play with the resolution setting as well as try the HDCP reset and splitter/switch options tonight when I get home. Hopefully one of those options will do the trick as I'd really hate to buy a whole new TV just because I bought a new receiver.
Thanks very much for the input and I'll report back so that other users can benefit.

Vansos,
Please let me know how this went. I have the same EXACT model TV as you with the same HDMI board as you and need to know if I can make this work with the 3313. I hope I can but if not I need to know so I can put my AV refresh project on hold. Thanks in advance for your input.

Thanks again,
Chris Brown

Anyone with one of the xx13 models... do you have SiriusXM streaming working? I've been waiting for a couple weeks for "level 2" tech support to call me back from Denon and I haven't heard anything about anyone else having problems either...

Thanks!

I just got mine last night, and was replacing an old burned-out (no more HDMI signal) HK 354, so far I really like it. I was excited to set up DLNA and stream video without having to use my PS3, but it looks like it will only stream audio, which was kind of disappointing, but oh well. I haven't messed with any other network streaming yet, though.

I'm waiting until my new sub & speaker wire get here tomorrow, and then I will give more input as to how I like it

AVRs cannot stream video ... you'll need a 3rd party device connected to the AVR for that (eg. PS3, AppleTV, etc.).

Can I use the second sub output of the 3313 in zone 2?

Basically I'd like to run 5.1 in zone 1 for movies in the bedroom and 2.1 in zone 2 for music on the patio. No need to run them at the same time.

Also, I know this has been covered but can I control pandora from the denon remote app on my android phone? ie, select thumbs up, change stations, skip to the next song, change volume, etc..

Thanks!

The dual sub pre-outs are simply a single main zone sub signal with an internal "Y" splitter, so you could use it if playing the same source in both the main zone and Zone 2. Note however, that the Zone 2 HDMI will pass a 2.1 signal so if it were connected to a Zone 2 AVR, that AVR would process and provide the 2.1 audio to your Zone 2 speakers/sub or soundbar/sub.

The only avr that I am aware of that has a sub zone 2 out is the pioneer elite sc 61 (same price as 3313) and higher up elite models.

Zone 2 sub out is really a superfluous feature anyway, since zone 2 is just stereo and you already have both RCA pre outs and speaker output options for zone 2.

Thanks for responding.

1. So you're saying that after running AUTO SETUP, the default setting changed from 0db to -2db? Does adjusting it to -12db or +12db make any difference?
2. Powered on with either no audio or average volume audio playing.
3. So then it seems the file size hasn't changed from last year's models. Good to know.

Works fine on my 2313ci. I had to pay ~$36 for a year's worth of internet streaming.

The official Denon Android app is not yet available. There's a third party app that is functional but not as nice as Denon's official iOS app. I'm not a Pandora user, so I don't know the answer to your specific question for either version of the app.

I never looked at the settings prior to running the setup wizard, but I assume everything started at zero. I'd wake my wife if I tried it right now; I'll play with that later.

I just ordered a Raytek MT4; you'll have your answer in a few days unless someone else beats me to it. smile.gif How long do you think I should have it powered on before measuring to let it reach operating temp?

Likely no more than 15-30 minutes. The new Analog Devices Inc. video chips run much hotter than the previous ABT chips in the XX11 models. I'm curious whether the newer ADI chips in the new XX13 "CI" models are any cooler than the older ADI chip in the 1913. This would be detected on the left side of the AVR as you face it.

So, with recent-year Denon AVRs, how often have owners had to resort to resetting their microprocessors? (I've never had to do this with my old AVR-4306.) And if the microprocessor is reset, does that typically fix for good the problem that the owner had been having with the unit?

I bought a new 3313CI last weekend and have had the unit lock up on me on four occasions already. (By lockup, I mean that the unit becomes unresponsive to the remote and to button pushes on the unit itself (e.g., I can't even turn the unit off).) I have to unplug and then replug the 3313CI in order to regain control of it. (And yes, early on I did indeed install the latest firmware update.) So, last night, after the fourth lockup, I reset the microprocessor and will be watching closely for any recurrence of this problem. If a lockup does happen again, I guess I will try to return the unit to the retailer and get a new one.

Regardless of whether it occurs again or not, as long as you're still within your return period, I'd suggest just exchanging it.

Does anyone know when the official android app is coming out?

This is one of the main reasons I was going to buy the new model. The denon website say's it's already out:

"Intuitive Graphical User Interface and Remote App
The AVR-3313CI features a Setup Assistant along with a graphical user interface that simplifies the initial setup and daily operation of the receiver. In addition, the receiver supports the Denon Remote App, which lets you operate the receiver's main controls from your iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, or Android smartphone."

Last I heard it was scheduled for release at the beginning of this month, however, has apparently had some setbacks causing the release to be delayed. It is expected out anytime now.

I am considering either getting a Denon 4311ci or the new 3313ci. Does anyone have any thoughts on those two AVR's, other than the obvious price difference? The main difference I see in looking at the specs of both is that the 3313 does not have the multi-channel analog inputs and doesn't have hdcd decoding(but my player does). Any other major considerations I should be aware of; the amp difference is unimportant to me as I will be using three separate power amps which I already own? Finally, I have confirmed with Denon that both units will stream 24/96 FLAC files over the ethernet or into the usb ports, but I forgot to ask about 24/96 WAV files as I do have a number of albums in that format.
Thanks for any input or comments, especially from anyone who has/had either of these receivers.
