Do you know you can search for open box items right on Best Buys website. I just found a new 2113 at a local BB for $319 or i'd jump on the one AV Science has as nentioned by JD above

Thanks, will look into this. Is it worth it to buy additional warranty or no?

If you purchased with a credit card, most card issuers will add a 3rd year for free so check to confirm as that should cover you well enough.

1. Is the AVR hard wired to the modem/router? If not, consider upgrading the "bridge" router being used. Is it a Verizon Actiontec modem? Review the following info ...

http://www.avsforum.com/t/1465528/the-official-2013-denon-e-series-x-series-avr-model-owners-thread-faq#user_L1

2. Power on using what? The remote? The button on the front panel? If the remote, check the condition of the batteries.

1. Thanks for this information. I will have to play around with it. Am currently using a 2wire bridge I believe.
2. This issue has nothing to do with the remote. Occasionally the receiver will not power on by any button. I only try the power button on the receiver as I use a harmony remote. This is definitely an issue with the receiver and has happened 4-5 times in 9 months.

I worked with Denon through their online support portal and one phone call. I presented all the troubleshooting steps I have gone through since June. I also submitted a video of the issue occurring on both the digital signal and analog signal.

Denon was very responsive and issued an RMA. I called to verify they are taking the unit back and will ship me a different unit. I will update this once I get the new unit. This has been a long process, but everyone I have dealt with has been very nice and willing to work with me to resolve this.

Hey guy, I know you can help. Just set up a 2313 and Sony XBR 950 and am trying to add Apple TV. Therein lies the issue. All works fine except Apple TV. When connected to the media player HDMI port the Apple Logo displays momentarily and then the screen goes to unable to detect video source and won't work. When plugged into the TV HDMI directly the Apple TV works just fine. I have tried other HDMI sources on the denon and all produce the same result.

Could it be a Handshake issue? Have tried different HDMI cables also to no avail. If this is already discussed or resolved in this thread please forgive my repetition and direct me to the resolution.

Thanks for you help in advance.

Have you tried the other HDMI inputs as some devices work better on one input vs. another?

Yes, have plugged it into Game, DVD, Media Player. Don't think I did everyone though? I would think one of the one of those should work ??

If you have other HDMI devices try plugging them into each input to verify that the inputs are working correctly. Also, make sure the HDMI plug is fully plugged in. On my 1713 the HDMI connector would feel fully engaged, but if you tilted it up (very gently) it would slide in more.

Try plugging the Apple TV directly to your TV and see if it works.

I've had that issue a couple of times. Once I had to do a full power cycling (TV, AVR, ATV). Recently it happened and resolved itself in a few minutes. Try a full power cycle and it should resolve itself.

Thanks for the suggestions. Worked perfect connected directly to the tv. Not sure I know what a full power cycle is but I will look it up. Thanks for the help, I'll keep you posted.

Now we know issue is between ATV and receiver. Check all connections and cables again. When I do a full power cycle I turn everything off. I usually unplug the Receiver and wait a few minutes, then plug the receiver back in and turn everything back on.

You may wan to try resetting the microprocessor if that doesn't work.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate and have tried all the above suggestions to no avail. Here is what is going on. AppleTV works when tested and plugged into the TV directly. It does not work in any HDMI input on the Denon 2313. When plugging into any HDMI input the tv screen shows the NO Signal message. Now if I unplug the ATV and plug it back in I get the Apple Logo on the screen and after about 15 seconds cuts out to the No Signal Message. This occurs in every HDMI port when unplugged and plugged back in. If you just change the HDMI input from one to another, ie DVD, Game etc and don't unplug it and plug it back in you get no Apple logo at all. Very frustrating. With ATV unplugged/plugged it receives and sees the ATV momentarily and then cuts out to no signal. I hope this makes sense. Tried to be very clear.

Thanks again for you help, please....going crazy with this.

Do you have any other HDMI device you can try into your receiver? A computer, cable box, blu ray player etc? Try another HDMI device to see if it works or you get a blank screen like with the Apple TV.

Also, try assigning the HDMI iput to the Apple TV .... it should do this automatically, but worth a shot anyways. You can do it through the menus.

Make sure the firmware on the APTV and the AVR are both up to date.

There's an order to the power cycling, find HDMI Handshake issues on P1 of this thread under Troubleshooting. Follow the instructions and it SHOULD work.

Under HDMI Setup, set HDMI Control to ON and then set the Standby Source to Media Player.

DD+ Issue using Netflix

As noted in the post below, there have been a few reports of XX13 models not being able to cleanly pass a DD+ signal to the center channel when using Netflix. Can any other XX13 owners with at least a 3.1 setup confirm whether this is true or not on your units as well? Thanks.

I don't have that issue, but I have noticed now that my roku and 1913 aren't getting along. Any time I power up my setup and go to the roku, i get a pinkish screen when I start to play a netflix or a vudu movie. Menus and browsing work just fine but when I hit play, it goes pink screen and the sound plays fine. If i switch inputs on the 1913 quickly to anything else, then back to the roku, the picture is fine for the rest of the night of viewing. I've already replaced the hdmi cable with a brand new one from monoprice and same effect. I had done a reset on the avr a couple weeks ago, 3 times in a row. Problem only exists while playing the streams from my roku only (but i can see the roku menus and browse just fine).

Any suggestions as I don't think it's quite the same as the linked problem above.

No, yours is more the standard HDMI handshake issue. As you have already replaced the cable, are you powering on the devices in the recommended order (ie. TV, wait a few seconds, AVR, wait a few seconds, Roku)? Also ensure the Roku has the latest firmware update. I'd try a few more HDMI cables as well if you have them handy.

Roku is updated, same as the avr. I only have the cheapo cables that I was using before I replaced all of them from Monoprice (would that be worth to test the cheapies out?) I'll look into the power on order, just using the default that the Harmony remote does. Will it matter that the Roku never technically goes "off"?

I would power off and unplug the Roku for a few minutes if you haven't done that already.

My Roku occasionally gets a little fritzy when it's been on for a long time. Not your specific problem but I will get stalled command response, hang ups, and loss of streaming connection. Pulling the plug and letting it reboot always cures things.

Most newer TV's can mirror my HTC One Android phone through USB, but my Denon 1913 doesn't even recognize it as a video source. Does anyone know how to make this work, or has there been a firmware update to address this? I think it is called MHL.

As noted in the post below, there have been a few reports of XX13 models not being able to cleanly pass a DD+ signal to the center channel when using Netflix. Can any other XX13 owners with at least a 3.1 setup confirm whether this is true or not on your units as well? Thanks.
