Hi

The question is the next:
Let's say I have a receiver sitting below my TV in the living room and sometimes I want to use my headphones with it but I don't want the headphone wire to be hanging all the way from the receiver to the sofa on the opposite side of the room. I would like to take a long wire, connect it to my receiver's headphone jack, and run the wire (hided inside the wall) to create a jack somewhere near my sofa.
The problem is that once the extension cable will be plugged in to the receiver, it will cut the power from the speakers and will only send the signal to the non connected headphones.

Is there any way to create this kind of a remote headphone jack?
I'm not speaking about some specific receiver because I did not chose which to buy yet so if I need a receiver to support some special feature for doing what I need please let me know.

Thanks.

just to clarify ... do you want the speakers to play well using you headphones or not?
