Do you know what blows my mind.. All these companies,Onkyo,Denon,Integra,Pioneer.. Do these companies ever change the looks of their crap? Marantz is the only one that changed their look for a while. Seriously,I wish one of these companies would create something cool looking to go with the performance..

I have no problem with amps/receivers not drastically changing their looks. For me, it is better that way so my older equipment will still somehow match the newer one. What I do not like are cable/satellite boxes. They come in different size, color and ugly design.

None of the receivers look that great. If there was a blue right around the dials on the Denons, those would look good. The onkyo's display is fugly green.. WTF.. I know I own one.. Pioneer, really, orange display with cool blue lights.. That display should be blue and it would rock.. Every single one has some visual flaw.. If someone came out with a receiver with a cool design it would sell like hot cakes. Of course it would have to be a reputable brand..

I would never be attracted to an AVR that looked outright ugly, but for me it's far more about reliability and key features (Audyssey) than how great it looks.

Someone could make a fully functional, aesthetically pleasing receiver,it wouldn't be that tough. Just because a few don't care, there are many that do,like myself.

I hate bright lights on my receiver. Less lights, the better for me.

Aesthetically pleasing to you may be ugly to me or someone else.

As long as my receiver functions properly I'm happy.

Have you looked at Harman Kardon receivers? They have a blue light around the dial and look different than the standard receivers you complain about.
