Let us know when you get it back. Good luck.

my nr 818 died this morning exactly one year from when i emailed onkyo about the hdmi replacement process. It work really well as a processor paired with the outlaw 5000.
RIP. bought it new when it came out in 2012. as a side note, my father is still rocking his integra DTR 9.9 which is flawless.

Pretty much how Livin said. Sometimes there is no good reason for why these things happen. You take care of your electronics! make sure they have good clean power! You dust them and keep them free from the curious hands of small children, and yet one morning you wake up to find that it gave up the ghost.

Received my unit a few hours ago,9 day turn around,will hook up tomorrow.Mine sat for quite awhile without use so I imagine even being in standby mode degrades the board.

Okay,hooked up and everything good to go.One problem though,I have an Amazon firestick that was connected only to the television.This is the first time I plugged it into the receiver.I used hdmi 3 port.I can here it clicking but I get no video feed.I unplugged the firestick and replugged but still no video feed.What am I missing.I can't check any settings on the firestick because I have no video feed.Do I need to reconnect to the television and change something before I connect to the receiver?????

After 4 years to the month , the 818 speaker icons fail to come back on after repeated on/off cycling.

Set to go back and get repaired. Glad to hear of relatively fast turn around times. Although after having the same problem with my Onkyo 1007, I have moved on to Denon and will keep this one as a spare and sell the 1007.

I had a similar issue and after extensive searching (Amazon was of no help), I came across this:

"Before plugging in the Fire TV Stick, change to the input you want to use, then press:
Receiver-->Home-->Setup-->Choose Source Setup-->Picture Adjust-->Picture Mode-->Set to Direct (not Auto)"

Good luck.

That was it.Thanks for your help.I got tired of searching for answers.My unit is hard to get at and I was tired of squeezing into that tiny space to connect and reconnect.http://www.avsforum.com/forum/images...t_thumbsup.png
