I have the old flagship Harman Kardon AVR 8500 (or AVR 8000 as it was called in the US). I am considering adding a separate amp and want to know how the pre amp section of the AVR 8000/8500 is. I don't have a Blu-ray player or a HDTV currently in my main home theater and still use DVDs. Will the pre amp section of the AVR 8000/8500 be good enough for a separate amp since it was a flagship in the DVD days?
