When someone comes out with 11.2, trigger out, analog in, then I will be upgrading.

Which is why I put the pic of the Marantz 8801.

The Denon 4520 is the AVR version

Of course! I did not realize that until I did some research on the AV8801. It sounds awesome! Thanks for pointing it out!!

I would consider the Denon 4520 but it does not look like it has 7 channel analog inputs which is a deal breaker for me?

Is Marantz going to be doing an AVR version that includes 7 channel analog in?

If not I will go for the 8801 and just get some extra amps!!

The Denon 4520CI as well as the Marantz SR5007, SR6007, and SR7007 all have 7.1 EXT IN analog inputs.

Update: On my 2nd Onkyo 5010, HDMI input for cable/sat (the one I used most) failed. eek.gif

But since it has so many, now just using another one. biggrin.gif

Despite having 2 separate (not in series) UPS/surge protectors for the many devices, my Dish Hopper just died. Guess this is not that unusual, since replaced more than one DirecTV HDDVR.

Love the 92" Mit RP TV still, but eventually plan to move up to up converted 4K/UHD set. Impossible to always have the latest/greatest gizmos.

As far as this thread on the best Onkyo AVR goes, after owning many, think I'll pay the premium for a Denon next upgrade cycle when I need the HDMI 2.0 switching ability. Hardly ever use 3D anymore, but it should be incredible on a 4K/UHD system.
