For all you guru's out ther, I have a HK AVR 3600 (80 watts per channel) and looking to upgrade my speakers. I'm wondering if my AVR 3600 will do a good job pushing the RB - 61's (100/rms) or if I should go with the RB - 51's (75/rms).
Also, i'm dead set between these two speakers. So please don't suggest another speaker.
I just pulled the trigger on the 61's along with a rc52 center. They will be here Wednesday. They should be a nice upgrade from my current Sony b3000 speakers, which I'll be using as surrounds when my Klipsch's come in.
I just purchased this exact set-up (61/52) It took a little while to get used to the horns, but when I did I concluded I made the right decision.
Let me begin by saying that I bought these speakers for a clearer dialogue that I wasn't getting from my former Ascends (in all fairness my AV room is a tough one...12 x 12). The RC 52 presented a much clearer better defined dialogue which was what I was looking for. Even though the woofers are smaller on the 52's (5.25 vs 6.5) the sound the seamless across the board (as witnessed by scenes in Top Gun!). There is plenty of bass even after adjusting Audyessy Reference Level and setting it to Music / flat (these speakers are ''bright''). I would add that I have an Onkyo 818 (great receivers by the way!)
