Times like these are always fun....
Im trying to decide on whether i get:
Nad t748 or
Anthem mrx300

Ill be using it for 50% music 50% movies and needs some power to be able to drive a pair of subsonic xs3 mkii speakers.

Definately looking for sound quality as thats the key priority.
Help would be much appreciated smile.gif

If it was me I would go for the NAD. The Anthem receivers tested by Home Theater have had very poor amplifier performance; way below their rated power.

Check the review of the MRX700. It is a $2000 receiver that puts out less power than most receivers costing $600. Overpriced trash IMO.

Both of those receivers are going to be very similar to each other. I don't know anything about your speaker but if they present an easy load for the speaker, 8 ohm with not nasty ohm dips, and good sensitity than either receiver will work just fine. They are also not going to sound night and day different compared to the other. Both are known to make quality equipment and have a strong following. Just take a look at price and options that you want. Neither one is a bad choice.

If it's for a pair of front speakers then a separate stereo power amp with a less powerful AVR is a better pooling of resources where it matters most.

Audiosceptics accept audio trials using 25 people. A recent Oxford study with over 353,000 patient records from 639 separate clinical trials shows for every 1,000 people taking diclofenac or ibuprofen there would be 3 additional heart attacks, 4 more cases of heart failure and 1 death every year.
