Looks like I am in need of a new prepro, but with CEDIA so close I am tempted to wait and see what the Integra DHC 80.4 has to offer. Is there going to be an 80.4 announcement at CEDIA? If so what are the likely improvements over the 80.3? If I wasn't anticipating the newer model so soon I would just purchase an 80.3 now.

Just look at xx09 series vs. the xx10 series and the comparable .2 and .3 and 99% sure there is your answer and that nothing too radical will be announced. Some people are foregoing the 09 series for the extra 2 channels in the 10 series. If you don't need 11.2 or .4 then the 09 series will probably be a bargain.

butter and jelly please.

Mere speculation, however given the track record, I'd be surprised if the level of refinement and feature set weren't welcome by all. Now when it's introduced and actually availed to consumers is the question.

In summation; A win-win scenario, ... in that the 80.3 will be more accessible monetarily, and the successor somewhat more refined and feature rich.

We'll likely find out soon enough, ... while attending Cedia.

Attended today, no time for the Integra booth, so I intend to inquire tomorrow as to what is on the horizon.

I will, .... as that's something I'm interested in and intended to inquire about as well.

Briefly, OT but oh well, ... so much fantastic proprietary DSP out there. Saw and listened to some tremendous demos. DSP everywhere. Harman's big Synthesis demo ($270k, 7.4 big room), Procella, ProAudioTechnology, just wonderfully integrated DSP.

More today, barely scratched the surface yesterday.

Guess what... according to Integra at the CEDIA 2012, NO DHC-80.4!

They will skip the .4 generation and come out with 2 new LOWER END processors...

In the meantime...

The Denon 8000 pre/pro looks like it will ship in December for $3,200 and will come 11.2 channels, audyssey xt32, zone 2,3,4 hdmi support, airplay, blue-tooth, 4k upscale and passthrough

As a VW1000 owner that is really frustrating to hear. I can't believe as it is they made the 80.3 upscale to 4K, but not capable of passing it. Mind you if Denon comes out with the 8000 with a price like that, it could be a good option. I'm also over fact Integra's never have played nicely with HTPC, always have intermittent HDMI audio signal lock issues, even in the 80.3. Pity am not friendly with the local Denon distributor, like I am with the guys who do Onkyo/Integra, guess I'll be paying a lot closer to retail or ordering from HK..

Disappointed to learn of no 80.4, but thanks for this. If it's accurate, this looks to be my next PRE/PRO as the new Denon no longer will do two channel PCM to the zones from coax/tos. Big letdown to those without analog outs on media players like the APPLETV. rolleyes.gifwink.gif Even so, I won't pay $3,000 for what amounts to multi-zone HDMI and a few other hop-ups I really don't need. I could be waiting this one out. frown.gif

BTW: are we sure this isn't the rumored Marantz 8800/1 pre?

So just to confirm, did they mean no .4 this year or just none for the CEDIA 2012 timeframe?
Also, I googled Denon 8000 and could not find any info about it. Did you get the model number wrong?

Being that the Integra pre/pro has been based on their top of the line AVR the past few years, it may be a good thing for some the 80.3 stays in the lineup for now: At least it has multi-channel inputs, if those are important to you.....I think these are missing from Onkyo/Integras models now.

I think the future is pretty clear if we take a look at the latest generation Onkyo receivers:

"Simple Tap" is the new buzzword for the Robb Report victims:)

Reviving this thread a bit, not because I believe we're gonna get a 80.4 but just wondering if there will at least be a AVR option that will do 11 channels, offer digital inputs to the zones (and/or at least HDMI audio) and NEO X.
