I select the HDMI input for Blu-Ray and DVD, and the other input when I want a pure, un-processed signal (for certain music). This also allows switching back and forth with the same disk to see which connection produces the best audio. Try it.
Cool, i will try it.. do i have to set the Marantz sound settings a certain way on the 7.1 input .. or just leave everything flat .. trim levels for speakers etc or is there some kind of bypass on the Marantz?

Yup! use both , rca to 7.1 for stereo to hear the Sabre dac's in Pure direct mode but for multi/ch sacd and movies set the Oppo to bitstream and let Audyssey work its magic, now you have the best of both worlds. And believe it or not! if the Yammy was digitizing on the cd input you still have yet to hear how amazing the 105 sounds.

You're in for a treat and congrats! And do have fun
