Greetings all, am looking for advice on "upgrading" from a H/K 2600 to a "moderately priced" AVR that will do networking etc. Honestly all I really need or want the networking for is internet radio and Pandora for entertainment, kids enjoyment etc. I am on my second H/K and am experiencing the dreaded "Protect mode" issues as well as HDMI input issues (one of them is dead). So I am ready to move on from Harman Kardon. After much thought I am leaning towards the Denon 2112CI. I was considering some of the similarly priced Onkyo's but am somewhat leery of the HDMI issues they are known for. My brother has a 515 that is in the shop, again.

Any thoughts on the Denon 2112CI as an entry level networking AVR? Most of the use will be normal D* viewing, some Blu-Ray use, and hopefully the internet radio stuff. I currently stream Pandora and Netflix thru either the Roku or a Sony Blu-ray player. Also, should I be leery of a refurb unit from Accessories for Less? I am ok with a 1 year warranty at that price. Any advice is much appreciated.

The 2112CI should serve you well in this regard. Note also that should you decide to go the refurb route (AC4L is often recommended as an excellent refurb source), your credit card provider may add an additional year to the warranty (Amex will for sure and some MC/Visa providers will as well). Although before going the refurb route, you may want to try calling the various on-line authorized resellers listed on Denon's website as well as your local Best Buy/Magnolia stores as you may get a similar clearance sale price and a new unit would come with a 3 year warranty (4 years w/credit card extension).
