I am currently trying to decide between going with a two channel rig or use an avr. I like the flexibility of the inputs and running audio and video to another zone, but also want the best sound i can get. I currently have a pioneer sc-07 i use for surround sound, and have a denon dra-397 for 2 channel. I am using the denon to run a set of klipsch rf7ii's. I got a quote for a denon 3313 for $950 from a local shop, and the pioneer is around the $1300 range online. I am unsure of the sound of the denon because the dealer is more of a custom install place and doesnt keep recievers in stock. I have an idea of the pioneer sound because i hooked the sc-07 up to the klipschs' and the newer models are supposed to be a little better than mine. Never heard a denon avr and can only go by the sound from the 397, which is not too good. There is a big difference in power rating between the sc-07 and the 397, but in general at all volume levels the pioneer is cleaner and crisp sounding compared to the denon. So anybody with experience with the sc-67 or the 3313 please chime in and give me your likes and dislikes, impressions, or thoughts.

The DRA-397 doesn't use any EQ program whereas the 3313CI uses Audyssey MultEQ XT. However, if you can go to $1300 and don't need the Zone 2(HDMI) capability on the 3313CI, suggest considering the Denon 4311CI instead which uses the most advanced version of Audyssey MultEQ XT32. Give AVS sales and Electronics Expo a "call" as the 4311CI is on clearance to make room for the new 4520CI just recently released last week.

Thanks for the heads up on the sale. I do like the second zone hdmi output, and both options i listed have them, but it is easily accomplished by an hdmi splitter. The pioneer has second zone sub out as well as hdmi, nice but not necessary either. I will have to call avs and see what the price is and check the specs on the 4311> more decisions.eek.gif
