HI GUYS. Sorry if this is a silly question, but we're trying to figure out why there is a lag in my sub kicking in. I'll notice during a movie it will suddenly give me some bass, then later in the movie I notice there's none at all. It's almost as if it needs a certain amount of low noise to actually kick in. Does this make sense?
The sub is a Velodyne Impact 10.
You guys are the best!!!smile.gif

You joined here at 5:50PM PDT and its now 6:14PM and you've asked this question in three different threads. Which one would you like to field the answer from?

There are no silly questions - but posting the same question three times is silly.

Hey- it's more complex than just the rubber feet, because that wouldn't affect signal reaching the sub. Thanks for the reply anyway

More than likely it's because the sub trim level on the AVR is set to low. When you ran Audyssey, what level did the AVR set the sub? If -12db, you need to lower the volume level using the sub knob such that the resulting sub setting is closer to 0db than -12db (eg. -3db). This will ensure the voltage supplied to the sub is strong enough to engage it. Also, if the sub has an AUTO/ON switch, set it to ON while running Audyssey and then once you're satisified with the sub level (ie. set closer to 0db), then you can change the sub back to AUTO.

Thanks Jdsmoothie for the response. With your comments in mind, I think I should rerun Audyssey. Before I do that, on the back of my Velodyne impact 10, there are three things to change:
1. The volume knob, which turns from min to max
2. The low pass frequency, which turns from 50-200hz
3. The phase switch, which can be set at either 0 or 180.
Would you mind recommending the best settings on the sub? Also, just to clarlify, it looks like my sub has a permanent auto setting, which shows a red light when on standby, and a green when on. It basically keeps slipping to standby when there are less bassy moments in a movie, which is really distracting.
Again, thanks for your initial response, and I appreciate any further tips you can give me re settings.

1. Place at about 1/4 of the way (ie. 9 o'clock).
2. 200hz
3. 0

Review the Audyssey FAQ linked in my sig for more details.
