Hi eveybody,

Just purchased the Marantz SR7007 and set it up, HDMI PS3 into Receiver, HDMI out from Receiver to TV, pretty simple. Was watching a movie on the PS3 and the video would flicker every now and then, and eventually it would happen a whole lot (sound would stay solid). I changed the HDMI cables thinking this may be the issue, but did not fix the problem.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

HI, TBH if i was after investing in an receiver like a marantz sr7007,id be looking at a decent marantz or denon BDP- or at least oppo's entry model...i had similar issues with the ps3 with my old pio vsx lx70,then i bought a bdp51 & never looked back wether or not using video conversion on avr. Are you using any motion interpolation on tv?, could be that either. ATB.

Thanks for your reply. I don't really know about the motion interpolation thing, I have a 55HX850 Sony TV with factory settings. I never had any problems with the PS3 playing movies when I had it hooked directly into the TV, just since the introduction of the receiver.

try a motionflow setting on your hx, standard or clear for example & it might cure your flicker problem. Is the sr7007 doing the scaling?..smile.gif

My new Denon 2113ci does the flicker when in the PS3 menu screen. If I turn the AVR off and on it usually stops it. The problem is intermittent and has not happened in games or movies yet. I did the same as you by swapping HDMI cables. When I plugged the HDMI directly into the TV it stopped flickering. It has to be something with a setting or the way Marantz/Denon handle their HDMI.

On the PS3, set "Deep Color Output" to OFF.

Also note there is a dedicated thread for Marantz SR7007 Owners ....
