I'm looking for receiver which has powered IR port which would allow me to control receiver behind closed doors. What I'm looking for is simple like I have now with Motorolla box where I have device like this (http://www.irblaster.info/motorola_rx.html) which plugs directly into IR port on Motorolla and has eye on the other side. I don't want complicated $150+ kits which I know I can use with existing equipment. I just purchased Yamaha RX-V673 and I assumed since it has remote IR port it will allow me to do what I did with Motorolla port but it appears to be a different kind of port which requires close to $200 in equipment which Motorolla box does for $20.
So which brands of receivers in same range as Yamaha RX-V673 do have this capability if you know?

I think you'll find that all manufactures charge an obscene amount of money for any sort accessory for their receivers . You'll find better deals on generic IR repeater/extenders that'll work with just about any kind of device.

just get one of these for under $50: http://www.amazon.com/Cables-Go-40430-Acoustics-Infrared/dp/B001BLTDZA/

even if the port is not compatible you can control the receiver by sticking one of the "blasters" to the front.

the thing with most components is that you can't just plug a wire with an "eye" into the remote socket, the IR signal needs to be repeated and amplified and thus you need a powered repeater box to send the signal to the component after the eye receives it.
