I am looking for a used home theater receiver, and found these two on local CL list. Both at a price of around $100.

I searched online, and saw favorable reviews for both. My guess is the Denon one may give better sound quality as it's a better brand than Yamaha, but I know it's also relatively older (believe 3802 is 2002 and the Yamaha one is 2005/2006).

Which one is better for 5.1 or 7.1 HT purpose? I occasionally do Karaoke using Stero, which one is better?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks!

^^
You'll note there have been a bunch of duplicate posts lately as there is likely an issue with the Huddler servers that needs to be resolved. These folks are receiving error messages that their posts are not going through so they try again only to have them all actually go through.

You are right jdsmoothie, sorry for the mess, what you said is exactly what happened. Seems the admin has cleared it up though.

any other suggestions. I realize both doesn't have HDMI, that's not something I care.

thanks

If your budget is only $100, then either unit will likely perform well; although the Yamaha likely has an edge as it uses an auto EQ program (YPAO).
